![]() However, though it works well on its own, Google Calendar in Mailplane 3 doesn’t seem to be as closely tied to the rest of your Mac as Gmail is. ![]() Mailplane 3 adds support for Google Calendar in those tabs, as well, so that you can view your appointments as easily as your inbox. It's certainly challenging to do it when you want users to be able to accomplish complex things, but the challenge shouldn't cause immediate dismissal.Mailplane 3’s refinements on that feature set include a tabbed interface: Instead of switching clunkily between one account and the next, you can work with as many Gmail accounts as you like simultaneously, each in its own tab within the Mailplane window. ![]() Yeah, I think you're right that it's easier to have a cleaner interface when the functionality is basic. Given how some of the other OS X apps are (and how Mail is on iOS), though, I don't think that's likely. It's possible that Mail.app is targeted at a completely separate, dramatically different audience. I do, however, really care about interfaces just as a user at the lowest level. I'm no expert on UI/UX design, and I wouldn't even call myself an enthusiast. toolbar is "there all the time" with a whole bunch of icons even though many of them only make sense in some contexts, so it frequently looks like clutter.icons are tiny and so is their click area.text is crowded (can't be adjusted in most parts of the interface).Very many basic stuff is wrong with Mail.app: While I completely understand, I think it's not a zero-sum game between "capability" and decent UI.
